| Club Members Participate in Iowa Stories Oral History Project |
| Pat Harrington Bade, Gerry Bade anad Russ McConnell participated in the Iowa
Stories Oral History Project, a partnership between the Davenport Schools
and the Davenport Public Library. Pat and Russ were interviewed by students at
Smart Intermediate School about their Irish heritage and ancestry and Gerry
was interviewed about his interest in playing Irish music. The interviews
were videotaped and will be added to the Richardson-Sloane Special
Collections Center at the Main Davenport Library for future
generations. Pat and Gerry also taught several of the students
a couple of Irish ceili dances.
On April 17 Gerry and Pat, along with Ed and Diana Jamieson, Larry and Anne Gorman, Angela Dearking and Harry Alter, attended a reception for students, parents and interviewees where the students performed the dance they learned and the Club's members demo-ed a few dances. |
