Céilí and Set Dance Lessons

Beginning ceili dancing and introductory set dancing are available to anyone whether a club member or not.  A partner is not required and no previous experience is necessary.  Lessons are held periodically when enough people express an interest.   We work on a variety of ceili, set and two-hand dances.

Our instructors are Gerry Bade and Pat Harrington Bade (Davenport, IA). They have had years of experience in all kinds of dancing including ballroom, swing, polka, old time, Cajun, barn and contra, and Scottish, Welsh, Cornish and Scandinavian country dances.  But their greatest passion is for Irish dancing and they make every effort to learn as much about their craft as they can.  They have studied set dancing with Anne Keane, Mick Mulkerrin, Timmy "The Brit" McCarthy, Patrick O'Dea and Yutaka Usui and have traveled to Ireland to experience it first hand.  They have been instructing for about 6 years.

Pat and Gerry are recipients of the 2006 Bernard A. Gilhooly Award presented by the Quad Cities St. Patrick Society's Heritage Day Committee.  They received the award for their efforts in promoting Irish culture in the Quad Cities.  Read about it here.

Please email us if you are interested in lessons, or call us at (563) 386-7551,  and we will get back to you as soon as we can.  The charge for beginner lessons is $30

for a 6 week session.  Once you have completed the beginner classes, and are interested in continuing,  we will set up a beginning set dancing course.
